Children like playing video games rather than playing outside. But while playing these games the children are sitting for a long period of time. They are missing out on physical exercise and this could harm their health.

Children who play excessive video games develop problems like seizures, skeletal disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome and more. Though these games are proved to be stress relievers and a strategy increaser. They help the children to be creative, improves their decision making speed and builds confidence in them as they encounter different situations.

Even violent video games are associated with release of aggression and frustration. The children can easily make plans, distribute tasks and set goals while playing the games. But when kids sit for a long time playing these games and hunch it will be unhealthy for them.

Some of the video games like Wi-Fi promote standing but you should make your children stand continuously. You should allow them to sit for a selected amount of time and decrease that time slowly every few days.

According to a study no amount of physical exercise can counteract the negative health effects of prolonged sitting. Even if you exercise daily, sitting for a long time can negatively affect your heart health and blood vessels.

One of the ways is to provide your kids with a standing desk to play their games. The children can stand while playing games. This way they will get a better posture and they will be able to interact better with the video games. These are the benefits of playing games standing:

The calories you burn when you stand is more than when you sit. Standing will also improve your posture and also your health.

Sitting and playing video games for a long time can lead to cramped muscles and they may hurt. This is because the children are still growing and they need the correct posture to grow and strengthen themselves. Sitting for a long time will hurt them in the short and long run. The average sitting time is six hours per day and by reducing it to three hours per day you can get added health benefits.
