Needle Thrust bearing

Lightweight Friction Fighters : Needle Thrust Bearing

Bearing industry is very vast as it plays a crucial role in our daily life. Commencing from home to offices we are surrounded with the things which has bearing in it. In fact, it is a toolkit for human creativity.

As we all know that bearings are used in machines and heavy vehicles in order to reduce friction between moving parts. Bearings are classified in many types depending upon the type of operation, or the direction of the loads applied to parts. Most of the bearings are either ball or roller bearings. Needle bearings are one among them which is a part of thrust roller bearing.

Design and Configuration:

Needle thrust bearing has small cylindrical rollers in it. These rollers are used to reduce friction of a rotating surface. They have the quality to handle a rigid and larger shaft. Needle rollers are configured radially in the cage, and a bearing ring of disc form is intended to support one-directional axial load.

Needle rollers come in different configurations and are of different types. They are light weight. Needle roller bearings are available in 5mm to 160mm bore, consist of a complement of needle rollers held in place by a cage.

The various components of needle roller bearings are: needle rollers, raceways, and seals. Apart from this, lubrication is required for all needle roller bearings. Needle rollers are made of high carbon chrome bearing steel, fine-finished by grinding and polishing after heat-treated to make it harder. These needle rollers are supplied not only as rolling element but also pin and shift individuals.

The needle rollers are the load-carrying components, located between two races, between a single race and a shaft, or between a shaft and a housing.

Availability:

Along with the market demand for eco-friendly automobiles, the demand for weight reduction, higher power output is on the rise and such needs can be accommodated by high performance products in the field of needle bearings.

Needle bearings are available at varied price range and are of different specifications. The minimum price begins from Rs 50/- per piece and there are many brands manufacturing such tools.

Thrust needle roller bearings are used in applications where the load is sustained axially and not radially. It is used in steering and braking systems, engines, fax machines, copiers and in several other applications.

Quality:

Lastly, the quality is of paramount importance for bearing industry. The organized sector units are following global standards and use front line technology for inspection and quality control. Manufacturers and wholesalers are updating their level of awareness and adopting new technologies for measurement of efficiency and effectiveness.
