Eligibility!

The Course Design!
It is a four years undergraduate programme and it is also known as clinical laboratory science. The students learn to do diagnostic analysis on body fluids. They do microbiological, immunological, haematological and bacteriological tests which help in the diagnosis of the diseases. Microscopic tests are also carried out and the students are trained to do all the requisite tests during their course. With practice they come up with accurate results.
They are trained to use advanced lab equipment and they learn about collecting, sampling and documenting data and their relevance during the course. Their analytical skills, reasoning skills are improved and they should have an eye for detail to come out with accurate analysis.
Subjects!
Some of the subjects are biochemistry, human physiology, anatomy, microbiology, haematology, pathology, advanced diagnostic techniques, virology and parasitology, blood banking, immunology and serology, clinical endocrinology and toxicology, principles of lab management and ethics, communication lab, etc. are just some of the subjects taught during the course.

The fees vary with institutes and government colleges charge a reasonable amount. It may vary from 3 lakhs to 6 lakhs for the course in bsc mlt at various institutions. Some renowned colleges charge more for their lab facilities and other facilities.
Placements!
Students passing out of the course can find job opportunities in big testing labs or they could work as laboratory managers, research associates, laboratory testing managers, etc. They could also seek opportunities in big private sector labs and their average initial salary starts from 3 lakhs to 5 lakhs per annum.
